Reset Rear Window after it quits working after battery is disconnected

Most probably knows this. If the battery is disconnected, the rear window does not roll down using the button on the key or if you roll the rear window down with the button inside the car, the key will not roll it up. You have to "reset" the rear window by rolling the rear window down halfway with the button inside then roll it back up and continue to hold the "up" button for a few seconds more. The button on the key will now work.

Does anyone know if this secret works with the electric seats too?

Moving the front seat all the way forward, removing the headrest, then tilting it all the way back lines it up with the rear seat and forms a bed

I have never tried this but I just went out to see if it does, and yes my electric seats will recline all the way down to the level of the rear seat,
however you will still have a hole behind the console but if you fill that with some pillows it's about the size of a small bed but only as long as
the seat are wide, I'm 6' 3" and could never be able to use it as a bed if I stretched out and laid on my back but I could curl up there and sleep
in a semi fetal position if I had too.

Nothing new in the car world. 1962 Rambler Classic the front bench back folded down and made a full size bed. My 1967 Ford Econoline van was a bed on wheels. No seats in the back at all.

Just discovered this thread. Looks like I have a lot of catching up to do. My Runner probably has a mini-gun and I didn't even know it.

If you chose that option, yes, both fore and aft. Controls are in that weird little compartment under the HVAC panel. If yours is empty, you don't have the mini-gun package. ;-)

The length of the bed would be from door to door, the width of the bed would be from the backrest of the back seat to the back of the console, unless you lay on top of the console, then the width would be much much more, but that console sticks up several inches higher than the seat bottoms and wouls be rough to lay on, I didn't measure anything, I just checked to see if it would do as you asked so I could answer your question.

I agree small needle nose pliers with tape to protect the bulb.

I have a pair of Small needle nose pliers that I put shrink wrap on the tips for similar reasons. SO used them for jewelry making since she could use the rubberized ends to hold stones and wire without marring them.

I never got them back...

Accidental discovery: with the back (hatch) window partially down, tapping the up or down arrow moves it in small steps.

Apologies if this has been mentioned, didn't want to read 38 pages to see if I missed it the first time someone posted it.

I just read this whole thread and all the little tricks were great! But no one mentioned the small triangular compartment that's formed between the 2nd row seat backs and the rear shelf that's formed when the shelf is in position. I use it to store all of my tools so they don't get stolen

Finally made it through all 38 pages of info. Knew most of it...but not all of it. Thank you to everyone who contributed.

Had a high opinion of these vehicles even before owning one. The three years I've had mine has done nothing but increase the appreciation I have for the engineering that went into them. I'd like to meet the original 4th Gen design team from Toyota and shake their hands, they hit a home run.

Found this by accident. You can keep the HVAC blower going without having the key in the ON position.
With blower already running and key in ON position , just turn the the key ever so slightly left towards the ACC. This will kill the dash lights and the HVAC will keep blowing.

Does anyone know the part number for the glove box bulb? I didn't know my 4Runner had such a light until I read through this thread!

One of those things I saw but didn't see in the 7+ years I've owned my 4Runner. Toyota thoughtfully provided bulb specifications near the housings. This example covers the headlights:

And this is for the turn signals/DRL & parking lamps (top line is partially scraped, it says 1156NA):

I think the same info is present in the back as well but I didn't take pics.
