4th Gen Armor Thread 2.0

I have a low-pro winch bumper from Lost Trails. I'm a big fan of it because it looks like it could've been an OEM option and the guy who runs it is super nice.

I also have an 80% Offroad rear swingout. It rattles a lot, but I put some craft foam on sensitive areas and that's helped a bunch.

I’ve been off of getting a winch bumper b/c I want exactly what you mentioned, something that looks like it could be factory. I call my build style “stealthy stock” - goes wherever I want but doesn’t look heavily modded. I’m looking into this front bumper though I may wait until Black Friday.

Oh, and my truck asked me to tell you that she loves your grill. ;-)

I've got one of those stealth bumpers. Let me know if you want to check it out in person.

Here's my latest deal. Put a 2nd Gen Tacoma bumper on my 2006. Thing was like $650 and arrived in 3 days. Holds up to a 10k winch. Its 5/32 steel on most of it, then 3/16 for the main mounts/winch plate.

I've been doing some research, l believe I'll ordering a 5th Gen rear tire carrier soon from a similar company for $699 soon.

I just finished my NWTI front and back bumpers. Fully built open top front kit with tubes and rear with swing out. Lift going in next week and then tires of course!

about how much steel did you guys use to create your bumpers???

getting close to start prepping mine to build a bumper, just trying to get an idea of what my initial cost would be for a sheet for steel.

been gathering the neccessary items to get this project started. have a hobart 190 with 75/25 argon bottle ready to go whenever.

Awesome rig, makes me miss my 4th gen!

For those of you with an aftermarket engine skid, do you have to remove it to jack up the front? The OEM skid has that reinforced jacking point, but I don’t see anything like it on the aftermarket skids I’ve looked at.
