4Th Gen Chat Thread

Omg do your guys wife's/girlfriends ever mess with you guys regarding you 4Runner. I mean other than complaining that we spend all our time on this forum and buying parts for our 4runners and working on our 4runners and go wheeling in our 4runners? I mean that's totally normal i think, anyways..

Well my wife like's to hit me where it hurts apparently i guess she just likes torture me a little. She took my truck to go to the mall with her and her mom to do a little mall crawling and she just called me a few minutes ago and said ( OMG i just drove into a parking garage that was too low and ripped off a bunch of stuff on the top of the truck! ) Light bar, roof rack, spare tire no biggie. So now i'm somewhere between :censored::puke::toilet::wow::faint: And she proceeds to tell that she didn't know it was soo low and she thouht she could make it?.!. Then as i'm trying not to freak out and pretty much when my stomach dropped to to it's lowest point she says ( I'm just kidding but that's what you get for making park far out in the parking lot and making us have to walk in the cold because your cars to tall to fit ) She just always loves to put the icing on the cake by calling it a car!:wtf: Ohhh she's got some kind of evil in her :whip2::sad:

So i Just want to say that i do love my wife but right now there's words, and some mixed feeling jumbling around in there, that i'm just gonna bottle up and burry them deep down inside somewhere.. Oh but it's now it's on like donkey kong:boxing: Just wait till the day i walk in the door and say omg honey i dropped your precious handbag in a gigantic slush puddle Whoops ,, Ohh i'll come up with something haha :heh:

No problem here as I don't have anyone to answer to, besides, it wouldn't matter.

Now for my trucks SAFETY, better go out and measure my height so I don't try to get into a low bridge situation and have to yell at myself.

Anytime you guys on the Northeast want to import some of that snow over here, it would be appreciated.

I got 6 or 7 inches in my driveway I can box up and ship to you...

Please do...

I can almost see Oregon from my house, so I'm way north and it might as well be So-Cal up here. These 65* days are nonsense. It's supposed to be winter...

-4runner related. I picked up a set of 17" limited wheels!

Somebody needs to make replacement control arms that push the front tires forward an inch or two. Would make things sooooooo much easier!

I've never heard anything on those, but have heard a ton of good stuff on lifetimeleds. 4x4 yota owners mag did a review on them in tacoma reflector housings and they were much brighter, but at $149 for a pair, its a lot

Wanted to check and see what you guys thought of these:

LED Headlight Kit - HB4 (9006) LED Headlight Bulbs Conversion Kit with Radial Heat Sink

I'm planning on buying these soon; they are obviously entirely for looks and not for performance... I've been wanting something to match my 6000k HIDs.
Has anybody tried these? Do they fit in the fog location?

That's a damn good price, most kits I see are $200-250 a set. I buy superbriteleds products all the time, have them in both my cars. I'd give these a shot if I hadn't just done a d2s retrofit that I haven't even installed yet

No idea on the fogs, but I'm also looking at some LEDs for my high beams.

$150-250 seems to be par for the course for a quality kit. I'm not going into "putting LED/HID into a reflector" argument, but no doubt they were brighter. The kit (monsters) I'm looking at check in at $250 (I haven't decided what to do yet).

superbrightleds is a great store. I use them for some LEDs, so far, no problems. As far as a "major" component such as low/hi beam bulb replacements, I think the jury is still out....... maybe I'm wrong.

These are the monsters I'm looking at: They are high beams which means they are not on all the time, so "beam pattern" and the such aren't as important as low beams, which are on all the time during night driving. Those of us with retrofits who have left the hi beams alone, know that they are practically worthless after a retro.

i don't have any qualms with $149 for a kit, however if i was to convert to LED's, highs, lows, and fogs, id be in for $450. at that point id just do a retrofit with proven HID's. i want led headlights to be a cost effective and viable option, i just won't know how i truly feel about them in a reflector housing until i see it. i can't imagine them being as blinding as HID's but i won't know until i see in person

I'll be back soon enough

Totally hear ya. LED "jury is still out". Looking promising, with some kits (vleds) can be adjusted for better "focus". I dunno, we'll see.
