**4th gen cracked dash warranty replacement

So my service adviser told me yesterday that they had the part on order and that it would be in by the end of the week! Looks like I'll have a new dash sooner than expected. I'll keep everybody posted.

So.... am I to understand this will apply even if the vehicle was bought used? My girlfriend did buy hers from a Toyota dealership used car lot.

Yes, it applies even if you purchased used. I just bought my 2004 in Oct 2014. It had 161,000 miles on it and mine is eligible.

Just talked to Toyota and said my 2nd letter would be received by the End of the Month and to Call a Dealership and get on a Waiting List.

I just bought my 2005 (built in March 2005) a week ago. I took it to a dealership and they said '500 units had been shipped but all the units were damaged during shipment and it could be another month or 2.' I called Toyota to make sure they had my info. They said they get information from state agencies on who owns the vehicles and sends out letters accordingly. They advised me to check back in September if I haven't received a letter. It will be worth the wait. I'll be really impressed if this actually works out.

That might explain the stop sale that was put out last month...

Went up to the my dealership today to have my dash inspected and they said I'm now on the waiting list. They said the dashes they had problems with shipping were the Corolla and Camry I believe. Then they would be doing the Seinna and then the 4Runner. Which honestly I'm super cool with. I'm just happy they are replacing it.

Dash Replaced!!

I have a 2004 4 Runner, and finally had my dash replaced on 08/31/2015!! I received the 1st letter way back in the winter, and never received the 2nd regarding parts available. I emailed my dealership that services my vehicle, and they ordered the dash. It took them about 2.5 hrs to replace it!! It looks great!

No cracks here, but a pretty large sticky melty patch centrally located.

Thanks for posting the specifics in the Toyota letter to dealers.

Looks like I may be eligible

Second letter received today for my 2004 with cracks all over the dash. Looking at 2016's now after thinking about 2015's for a couple months. Wonder what 2017 or 2018 will bring.

Hey guys, I need some help.

I don't think my dealer ordered the right dash. They ordered 04005-15135-B1

I'm unsure which interior I have, but its a 2003 Silver Limited. The interior looks like this picture:

I've had a few people say they should've ordered the -B0 color code.

They ordered the part over 5 weeks ago, I've called and still no update. They insist they ordered the right one and claim they ordered it by VIN and couldn't have messed it up.

Has ANYONE had their dash replaced with a "-B1" part no.? My current theory is Toyota isn't making a B1 color and that's why it hasn't come in. Plenty of people on here are getting their dash's replaced without much delay but all I've seen is -B0, so I feel like my dealer ordered the wrong part (that's not in production).

So I guess two questions,

Did they order the right one?
If so has anyone received a -B1 dash?

Any help?

Bump for help

They told me it would take at least 30 days for it to come in, and that one service manager had a stack of dash orders on his desk that was about an inch thick.

I called last week and went to Huntington Beach Toyota Dealership this past Monday with my 03. The cool service guy didn't need the letter, he just recorded and checked the VIN#, took photos of the dash, and submitted the order. He said Toyota does not have these 4th gen dash in stock so they have to reproduce them - could be anywhere from 3 weeks to 3 months+. I'm cool with it. Also, the service tech advised some recalls that my 4Runner needed: accelerator and ecu modifications to prevent unintended acceleration. It was done in 3 hours. So just standing by now the the new dash, it will take the entire day for the installation.

I still hate that acc pedal mod after all these many years.
They did mine without telling me when I was in for some warranty work.
