I can understand that but my problem is the rep definitely knew about this and didn't tell me until I'm at work 3 hours later. I would've have zero issues with removing it myself had I been told. I work a lot so finding time to reschedule this appointment and do it again would've taken a month since they were so booked. I think that sometime between the 3 times I talked to them before it actually got dropped off it could've been mentioned

Go away from that shitty dealership. Contact Charles Barker Toyota on Laskin road and ask for Steve Levy as your advisor in the future. My family and I have been with them for 15+ years servicing 5 4Runners up to now. It's a solid dealership
Sorry to hear about your bad experience with Checkered Flag
EDIT: I brought in my '04 with a Pioneer head unit. Charles Barker never charged me anything to "work around" the head unit and never made any comments at the time of dash inspection when I had cracks on my dashboard. I'd contact the GM of Checkered Flag dealership to complain

Yeah exactly since it's the exact same as removing factory. And that's my plan when I go pick it up. As I said before I would've taken it out if I had known about it before hand but was never told about it

...Well, went to the dealer Saturday morning. They said yes, will replace, 2-3 months wait. Later that day I get a call - they have a dashboard in hand and ready to install.
It's early afternoon on Monday and I just picked my car back. Apart from the aggressive "new car smell", the dashboard seems a shade lighter perhaps, but can't complain with the turnaround and the service.

No - it should have a 'new car' smell. I suspect someone may have been smoking cigarettes prior to installing your dash since they would reek of cigarettes inside the vehicle for few hours. I'd contact the service manager to inform him about this experience. He cannot tell them not to smoke cigarettes but he can ask them to be mindful of smoking cigarettes if they know they will be inside the vehicle for an extended period of time

Doubt your year is covered under warranty enhancement. Only limited to '03-'05 I believe. My backup '04 needed to have dash replaced

I got denied and am in the same boat. Just a small crack so far. It probably will get worse.
The program expires in a week.
We are just SOL.

I'd take it to other Toyota dealerships asap. Share a picture of this crack with us please - I'd like to see if it's similar to my crack on the '04

The crack is actually similar to mine except mine was probably .5 inches longer in terms of crack length. Really shitty for them to deny you the warranty. I came into my local 'Yota dealer and the advisor inspected the crack. I was probably in-and-out within 15minutes after they documented pictures
I'd visit other 'yota dealers ASAP. Probably better to call ahead and inquire about dash inventory / letting them know you'd come in for inspection. They might be inclined to grant you a replacement dash because you contacted them beforehand making it seem like you know what needs to be done rather than something like "Hey guys not sure if my dash fits requirements for warranty dash replacement, can you inspect and let me know? What time should I come in?"
Hoping everything works out for you in the end before warranty program expires
worst case scenario...save the link to this thread showing cracks on dash from multiple users and demand to speak with Customer Relations > Service Manager > GM. I highly doubt you'd even need to go past service manager. Just show them pictures from other users with similar length and appeal to them to grant your claim request. They would probably approve your request after realizing how passionate you are about having this dash replacement...coming into the dealership ready to blow the house down and all that. Show some intensity so they know how serious you are about this crack!

Wasn't sure that my crack was big enough.
And Le Meiux Toyota here has a lot of bad reviews. I wasn't impressed and expected to be denied.
Time is a huge issue for me. Going to work on it.

Dropped mine off this morning. I was trying to get in before the warranty expires at the end of the month.
I'm developing a 1" crack at the bottom right left corner of the area where the airbag is.
They denied the claim.
What are my options at this point????

Maybe applying Aerospace 303 will keep it from cracking further. 303 is the best I've used for vinyl plastic and rubber. Spray it on heavy initially and let it soak in.

Some new cracks, worst one first:
Aerospace 303 the dash, it will prevent the cracks from expanding. Your dash looks dry and shrinking. Soak it good initially and spray it monthly. Same goes if you have leather, monthly conditioning 40 year old leather looks pristine.
