**4th gen cracked dash warranty replacement

Look what I just found!!

The Crack is growing here:

Some new cracks, worst one first:

You were advised by several forum members to take it another dealer, contact Toyota Corporate office, and that you should raise hell and should be covered, etc 18 days ago when you posted that the one dealer denied you the replacement, so you now have more cracks as was suggested would happen and you have wasted well over 2 weeks to get another dealer to look at it and or calling Toyota, now you're down to the wire and better get the move on and don't take no for an answer, if you're denied again, find another dealer, times a wasting!!!!

This is very true.

If time is truly an issue - then request the email info for service manager at the same dealership who denied your request. Also include the name of the adviser and include original pics of the crack at the very beginning and current condition of said crack. Advise the service manager how you were denied at the beginning due to poor inspection of the crack because it expanded within two weeks AFTER their original inspection. Make note of the fact the program is set to expire within a week and you are holding them personally responsible for delay in having dash replaced because of their service adviser's incompetence to diagnose the dash properly.

It's all about the service experience - last thing dealerships need is bad feedback from customers regarding their service centers

do that...get a move on

Same dealer.

They were extremely nice this go around.

They must have read the WEP this time! It said sticky and/or cracked. They tried to tell me I couldn't get it warrantied because it was only cracked, not sticky.

They were all smiles this time.

Got the ball rolling on my dash replacement, and a day later they called and said my dash would be in tomorrow. I feel sorry for those that waited months, sometimes procrastination pays off!

Almost same day

I took mine in this afternoon. The service rep took and look at the crack and said it qualified. He went back and check on their stock and they had some available. He was ready to set me up with a rental for the day and get it installed. I would have been game, but I need to undo some mods first. I've got the dash replacement on the schedule for next Friday.

Dash ordered today at dealer. Now we wait for that phone call saying it is in. I'm guessing this is similar to waiting for a form 1 or 4 stamp to come in.

Dash In

Got it Back at 5:30. Slight Color Difference but its New and No big Crack so I'm Happy :jump: Dash was Ordered in September.

Yes to OP.

I stopped by my dealership today for some parts and had a service tech inspect my dash. We could not find anything resembling even a hairline crack. He said he replaced a few and the bad ones usually start with a gummy texture and then crack.

Did anyone else's new dash smell terribly of cigarettes??

Got my dash all fixed up!!

Thanks all you guys for all the advice!!

I couldn't have done it without your help!!

Mine stank like cigarettes the first day. It was an odd chemical smell. I assumed the install guy chain smoked putting it in. But reading your post, Levinz11, got me wondering. So I rolled all the windows down and left it to cure in my hot garage yesterday. And that seemed to work; smell is minimal now.

I pulled my head unit so the install wouldn't tear anything up.

I'm happy with the color. It is very close to the original, but not perfect. Thanks again everybody!!
