4th Gen Grill Replacements & Inserts

Luxury I like that grille the best also. Where do you contact the person? I think if you somehow added more chrome to that grille it would match your car. I do not like the other grilles the white 4Runner looks nice but not a good match for your luxury ride!

Luxury...How did you install the bottom portion of your grille??? Did you remove the original inserts??? If anyone has this billet grille and can explain how they installed it would be of great help to me.

Simple

It was really simple actually. The original design is made so that the bottom piece is screwed into the sides of the bumper with 4 screws...I did not want to put holes in my bumper so what i did is 1st you have to get a hand or sometype of dremel saw and cut of the license plate tabs, 2nd and 1 bloody nuckle later i put the grill up in there and I decided to use industrial strenght zip ties. So i put a few together and zip tied it in the middle about 5 different sections. I choose to use the middle b/c here in TX you have to have a front plate, so i put the plate up infront of all the zip ties so it hides them perfectly. The only thing that looks goofy is the zip tie holding the license plate on, but i dont care its not like im going to be n a car show or anything you know. ANd thats about all it took. I think it looks really kik ass, O N luxury thanks for using my ride as the example:D

I like it 4route! It compleately goes with your blacked out look (wheels) and adds a nice contrast to the grey.

PM'n ya.

I haven't update this thread in a while, but I have a little time right now and found a pic I had to add. A new member from Japan just recently posted some picks of a very similar grill to Shuei's. Maybe Shuei just sells the same grill or something. Anyway, I liked this 4runner better because it doesn't have the ground effect kit and is raised. The quote and pic below is from the Welcome to #215 Surf Owners Club members thread. More pics are in that thread.

I would love to get my hands on the grill that looks OEM but says, "TOYOTA" on it instead of having the symbol in the middle. I think it looks so good on the older Landcruisers.

Nobodies updated this thread in a while, but it used to be pretty comprehensive, so I think I'll add a couple more grills that have been recently released.

I haven't read any threads that have great pics of the 2006 grills, so if someone has a good thread and pics please add it here. BTW, does anyone know if the 2006 grills will work on the 2003-05 hood? I felt under the hood (blindly) at a Toyota dealer and it feels like they might have used the same hood. Personally I like the 06 hood, but I usually like change.

Below is a pic of a grill cover by Autonecnica and CLICK HERE to go to a thread that has been discussing it.

Well, it looks like nobody else has added anything here so I'll add a couple. We also definitely need some pics of the 2006s so if someone could add pics of theirs or some they know of that would be great.

I linked to this thread back on page 1 of this thread but never added a picture of what Momo tried, so here is the same link (but to a different page of the thread), and the pic:

Momo.75

Momo's mod is similar to the one I'll place in the next post:
