4th Gen Head Unit Options

I have an '05 SR5 with a non-JBL head unit (single CD and Cassette, no aux in) I also have the volume/station controls on the steering wheel. I want to upgrade it but i'd like to keep the stock look and maintain use of the controls. Is there an OEM option to add nav. and iPod?

If so, where can i get it?
If not, are there aftermarket options that look stock?

thanks in advance.

OEM would be through eBay, CL, etc and getting the Toyota nav and installing an aftermarket iPod interface such as Peripheral Electronics or DICE. PE and DICE are not the only ones, there are a lot of manufacturers. You will want the analog out OEM nav aka "Camry nav" since you don't have a JBL sound system.

Eclipse is the only aftermarket manufacturer that makes plug and play headunits with Toyota. But Eclipse has announced their exit from the aftermarket.

For other aftermarket headunits, you would need an interface like PAC, etc. to retain use of the steering wheel controls.

thanks for the information. I will have to start searching for the right unit. I noticed someone has one from an 05 runner on here, but they are asking 1300 and its used. yikes!

ps. any idea on what years for the "camry nav" units?

My '04 Camry has the "all-in-one" nav. It has two slots behind the screen (audio CD and map DVD). I don't think there were any changes for the 2005-06 Camry. IIRC, the model number on the nav is E7003.

I think the 2002-03 had the two piece nav, with the DVD-ROM seperate from the head unit. The two piece nav has a cassette player behind the screen.

thanks so much, there is so much information on this forum!
the fun part will be trying to find a nav unit for sale that fits.

looks like OEMvalue.com used to be the best spot but the site is down now.

What about the SCION Navigation.

Conicelli Parts Center

We should see these start showing up used or as pulls from wrecked cars and it should be mostly plug and play. The screen looks very similar to my IS350 and its the best factory Nav I have used/seen in any car.
