4th Gen HVAC/climate control backlight out

I changed out the stereo with an after market model. The after market plug hooked up perfectly and everything works except the backlight on the HVAC/climate control unit. The display works fine and everything inside/outside temp, fuel level, fan blower, etc, etc is working. The only problem is there is no backlight. At night, I can't read any of it.

Any suggestions, fixes, advice would be greatly appreciated.
