Litigation is long and expensive, and tough to do for a one man show with a newborn baby.

But thanks for telling me what I should do, last I checked this is a free speech forum and I was offering a warning, which some people would heed. Why didn't you offer this advice if you seem to know the correct words to say? And you condone taking someone else's efforts and capitalizing on someone else's misfortune?

I spent 20k fighting for custody of my son drawn out over 1 1/2 years. Guess what, it was worth every penny. I put my life on hold and did everything I needed to do. That was my OWN money. WMW had well over 3k in that gofundme account when he shut it down. Never did see proof he donated it like he said he was going to. Reality of it is, it wasn't going to be that expensive because he already had enough money to get the fight started. The lawyer's do most of the work and hell, he didn't even have to show up in court. So get off your high horse and move along homie. You're as bad as the dudes from Gobi spewing 2nd hand information and trying to defend their boss.

Either he kept that gofundme money or he donated it and got a fat tax write off because of it. He could have fought and he chose not to. The height being about 1", the full length steel mesh flooring that goes RIGHT up to the sunroof, the vertical supports are are almost the EXACT locations that Josh's are, the front hoop design with the top and bottom, the angle that the top bar goes up to. Man, it's pretty clear.

Anyhow, I think this story is settled. Any more questions?

Sure is settled, because it's not an exact design. Look at the front bracing, the dude in Costa Mesa doesn't have that. I also never disputed it wasn't similar either, so that's a moot point.

That's because mine, along with others who have a single row light bar, get the bracing. The original design has no bracing. I'd tell you to look at the website, but that unfortunately got taken down.

So yeah, it's a copy.

Welp, get over it. Shit happens, a design was used, and I don't see WMW on here arguing about it.

I did on my WMW if you just wanted to see what a double row would look like up top. I also then bought the amber covers due to some horror stories I heard.

My glancing blow with the patent system cost me almost 13k in a couple months, and that's with settling as quickly as possible. I had no idea how fast the bill would tally and truly hoped I wouldn't need to use the donations. They were, and still are extremely appreciated. Sure, the lawyers do all the work, and bill you for every call, every email, every time they send a runner to the court... how long could you fight at $350 an hour? Every motion or process of litigation costs money and it's BIG money with patent law. It's not a game individuals play. I won't, and can't say anything about the lawsuit, but you don't know the half of it or how it affected me. It still kills me to look at my own damn vehicle for crying out loud.

Unless your lawyer was in court, you got ripped off for billing over 2 months. I don't buy it personally. Cost me about 1k every court appearance once a month. Emails were billed at 30 mins, phone calls were non existant because I kept in contact via email, and outside of court appearances or signing paperwork there was very little contact to be billed for. Personally, if I had quit at 13k, I never would have won. I supported your fight, and I'm not trying to shit on it, but there are just things that don't make sense.

It has a removable sunroof insert

Basically it swings up like a door if I don't want it covering my sunroof. With the new RTT, it stops right before the sunroof so I still have full access. It's amazing.

Even though I have zero experience I would think all that surface area of the perforated steel grate would howl like a wolf in the wind. Is that the case? In my mind, it would either be very loud or operate more like a golf ball where the dimples help aerodynamics and make air flow smoother.

I would say the latter of the two. There is no whistling or howling of a large canine animal on the roof. It really isn't noticeable with windows up or down.

I looked for a little while for a mounting option for my Hi-Lift on my Prinsu... All the mounting hardware I could find was for other racks and I could not see spending $50 to $100 on something then having to figure out how to modify it to fit / work with the Prinsu. I briefly thought about making something myself... but I dont have access to materials or metal working tools (not to mention metalwork skills), so quickly ruled that out. I also considered QuickFists (as they work great for my shovel mount), but I am too worried about the Hi-Lifts weight with them, so opted against that route. Ultimately, I ended up finding a used CBI rear hitch mounted spare tire/Hi-Lift carrier and went with it b/c it solved my spare tire as well as the Hi-Lift mounting problems. Maybe now that CBI bought Prinsu they will come out with something... :noidea:
