4th Gen Spark Plugs: Inspect & Re-Install?

Seen a number of threads about plugs. But about putting used plugs back in.

Bought this 2006, so have no idea how many miles the plugs have, what type they are, etc. Mileage is OK, so just thought I'd take a look before it drove off to college.

Can I remove one to inspect it and then if it turns out to be an "in great shape" iridium plug put it back in without replacing the metal gasket ring? Or would I need to replace the metal gasket ring?

Any concern about putting a "used" plug back into the aluminum block threads, I mean other than watching the torque?

Seeing that you're sending it off to college with your child, I'd be more inclined to put in new plugs with some general maintenance done lol.

I remember my college years. Too broke and was before I developed an interest in maintaining vehicles. Pay it forward I guess. Get some of the smaller things done now so you don't get that phone call later saying the truck broke apart.

Just be sure to use anti-size on the threads. Always use it when screwing steel threads into aluminum!!

You'll need to talk to your mechanics to put in new plugs I think cause it's hard to say whether you'll be able to find a reliable one in the college area. I never had a car at college and taking into account that having a car requires a certain income my son will go to college without an auto too.
