Toytec 3" Spacer lift/Rear Spring lift kit

Noticed that you didn't mention installing a Diff Drop kit when raising your ride. I've heard from mechanics that it isn't necessary to install it on 3" kits. And Toytec doesn't include it on their kit until checkout. They are just 1" spacers to lower the Differential.

From all the searches if have done on the forum I've come to the conclusion that the OWH 2.5 kit would have been the best setup for my truck. Now I know they have since gone out of business, so the question is does anyone know all the seperate parts needed to duplicate there setup...or another lift system that comparable...

apparently metal tech matches ow's specs on the valving, at least on their front coilovers

"Radflo 2003-2009 4Runner Standard Travel Adjustable Front 2.0/2.5 Coilovers. These coilovers are adjustable from 0-3" of lift, comes with all the mounting hardware and are completely bolt on. All Radflo coilovers are valved with the Overland Warehouse specification, every 2.0 coilover comes with 600lb springs and the 2.5" coilovers come with 700lb springs. If you want a different spring rate those will be on a special order basis with a 1-2 week lead time."

I've never used any of the air bag systems and am not aware of any replacement hoses other than going through the manufacturer.

A diff drop doesn't do much for these rigs. The spacer is 1", but it only tilts the diff forward it doesn't actually lower the whole diff. Because of this, you gain 1/2" or less at the CV's so it really doesn't help the angle.

You can buy the front coil overs and rear shocks/coils directly from Radflo. You will need aftermarket UCA's with the extended front coilovers, Light Racing are the most common choice. For the rear, you'll need extended brake lines and I believe bump stop drops.

Then either extended brake lines or fab a mount that moves the position of the brake lines from where they were originally attached.

But from what I've read the Radflo system is basically exactly the same as the OWH with a different name.

OW and Radflo are (or were) essentially one in the same. OW took the off the shelf Radflo kit and custom tuned it to the 4runner. They were still Radflo shocks, just built to OW's specs (instead of generic specs made to work with the 4runner, FJ, and Tacoma). I believe all 4runner Radflo kits are now made with the OW specs, regardless of who you order from (as long as you don't get old stock).

guys, i have recently installed fox suspension 2.5" lift front and 2" in the back... i was wondering if i could install 285/70 17" tire without any trimming?! could anybody advise, thanks.

No, trimming will be required. I'm at 4" lift and still have had to do a lot of trimming to get rid of the rub.

i am very curious why do you need a lot of trimming on 4" lift !! i have read your build thread, seems you have done a hell of a job over there.

I'm rubbing some even on road, mainly the rear portion of the front fenderwell (behind where the mud flaps were). Many claim to be fitting them with minor trimming, but even still minor trimming was involved. Thanks!

I believe you can but only if you have aftermarket UCAs because from what I've read 285's will rub on the stock UCA

You will have to have wheel spacers. Even with Light Racing UCAs I can't come close to getting my 285 bolted on without spacers.

Let me make sure i got it right, 285 70's can not be fitted to 2.5" lift suspension alone and requires spacers + UCA's, right!!

There are a couple issues.

1. The 285 is too wide to fit with stock wheels, it will rub the UCA. Wheel spacers are required to push the tire out away from the UCA.
2. With only 2.5" lift, I'd expect a lot of rubbing. They can be made to fit, but it's going to take some work.

UCAs aren't required. Aftermarket UCAs give a little more clearance than stock, but in my case it still wasn't enough. If you want 285's, my suggestion is to get some 1" wheel spacers and a 1" body lift. This will be the easiest and cheapest way to fit 285's on your rig without a lot of headaches.

When i had my spacers on i was extremely close to the body mount in the front but rear of the fender. Mainly because of the 0 offset Methods. Now that im taller in the front how close would you think i'd be. I want to get them again and see if they'd work.

The fact people fit 285s with the same amount of lift makes me think ill be fine. Im at 38" up front on 265/70/17s and they're pretty heavily worn.

I just bought a 2006 4Runner Sport for my soon to be 16 year old son. Prior to giving it to him, I would like to do some mods. The problem is I am a complete idiot when it comes to mods. Here is what I am looking to do:

Lift/Level kit- he has mentioned 3" but not stuck on that height. Don't want to disable the XREAS.

The largest/widest tire I can fit in without any trimming etc. (above my ability)

A quality tire that will last that is aggressive looking. He likes the over the shoulder tread like on the Toyo trail grappler

Will be changing out the stock rims. (Would like to stay with the same size to ensure the spedo remains accurate.

It will be his daily driver and driven almost exclusively on road (of course I am sure a 16yo will take it off road without my knowledge .
Really just looking to hook him up with a really cool 4runner.

What would be your suggestions ( I understand tastes vary)?

Being 17 I could probably give a little insight as to what he may want. First off I believe the only lift you could go with while keeping XREAS is the Daystar Spacer Lift which is a 2.5" spacer up front and 1.5" In the rear. With that lift for tires I would consider either those Trail Graps, or the BF Goodrich KM1's which are the tires that come stock on a Jeep Wrangler Rubicon. They are a 32" Tire that are listed as size 255/70/17. They are quite easy to find as many Rubicon owners lift their rigs and get bigger tires and lift their stockers on Craigslist. For rims my personal favorites are the KMC XD Series Addicts, the Method Standards, Stealth Custom Series Stealth 6, and the ATX Crawl. If you choose to lose the XREAS as most do, the Toytec Website has options, as well as Metaltech for full kits that are 3" of lift.
