Set on second perch and no lift in the back just FJ coil
I totally spaced measuring prior to lift. But I will say a bump over 2". Final measurement for front is 37" on both sides, and for rear driver side 38 1/2 and passenger side 39". I'll take measurements after a month or so to see what the settling in difference is. I had the 1.5 daystar ready to install, but after I saw the front after installing 5100's I didn't want to go any higher. Figured it would not match up and make my new tires look smaller. So I held back and glad I did. I think it looks perfect. It's only 2wheel drive, so no need. I rides sweet. Could not have done it without the help from some awesome guys on here.
Finished, 5100's on 2, FJ coils, and a wash. Dropping off to my son now. Thanks everyone for holding my hand through my fist build.
Go to Down South Motorsports and put in your info. Cheapest place, great customer service. After reading through countless threads I think I have finally gathered enough information to make a decision on my suspension lift. I drive a 2003 2WD 4Runner SR5 and really like mauidivers setup so I have chosen to go with the FJ coils and bilstein 5100. I have located some FJ Coils from an 07 FJ Cruiser that have 100k miles on them. So my question is how used is too used when it comes to the FJ coils and would these be a good investment to install having 100k miles on them. Sorry for my ignorance as I am very new to this and don't want to buy something that I might need to replace after a couple years when I could have purchased new.
Another question I have is what is the part # for the specific bilstein 5100 adjustable shocks that everybody uses? I have done a few different searches and feel like I am finding different options for my 03 4Runner. Are people using the FJ Cruiser setup for the bilstein 5100 or just searching for the shocks that would fit their specific vehicle, in my case a 2003 2wd SR5.
Thanks in advance for your time.
I would recommend against purchasing coils with 100k miles on them. If they're $20 each then maybe, otherwise you simply won't be getting value for money. They are probably not performing as good as you are hoping for.
Thanks techno, thankfully I had a plan B as well. I found some brand new FJ Cruiser - Old Man Emu OME 895 Coil Rear Springs on craigslist that say they provide a 2in rear lift, which I believe other drivers have used along with the bilstein 5100 in this forum. Is that safe to say you can pair these 2 together? The seller wants 200$ for the rear pair, is that a good deal?
