Hi guys,

Thanks for this awesome informative post about lift kits for the 4th 4Runners. I see that a lot of people are willing to get rid of the XREAS system (which I don’t really care for). But my question is, if I get rid of it and replace it with after market non-XREAS shocks and struts, will I then get some kind of a “suspension” indication (or an engine light) because the system has been removed?

You guy’s help and time is appreciated.

Good question, and no, there won’t be any error code/warning light etc. I removed mine about 6 weeks ago, and the only indications I get since the change are no more nose dives when braking, and fewer clunks and rattles from worn out parts. [emoji16]

So a buddy and I installed 2016 Tacoma TRD suspension in the front of my 2006 2wd V6 today, finally! My 4Runner has almost 170k miles so I am pretty sure the stock stuff was sagging a bit, but with that being said I got right about 3.25" of lift from where it was, which gives it just a slight front rake. I have the rear Bilsteins from the Tacoma also, so I'm thinking some springs to lift it about 1" in rear would be perfect. Any suggestions? I'm thinking Bilstein B12's or Eibachs.

EDIT: Here is a pic of the 4Runner originally, and now (the rake seems a bit exaggerated due to the slope of the parking spot), and now next to a neighbor's 3rd gen Tacoma TRD. Rubs a little at full-lock, and you can see some slight positive camber, so definitely needs an alignment soon, but it drives straight and smooth down the road.

I have the ome 2895e. I haven’t put them on yet so I don’t know the actual height but it should be around 1 inch or so

Let you know in a week or 2 when I put mine on, I got 5100’s with emu. I have an 06 limited

I've had a OME suspension system with a 2" lift on my 08 Sport since September. Went with the light load coils in the front and medium load coils in the rear, paired with Nitrocharger Sport shocks all around. Ride was firm at first, but everything has settled really nicely. I've put about 3k miles on it since it was put on, and I couldn't be happier with it. It's particularly good off road, even with my stock UCAs (going to change those out soon though). The ride on even jagged, rocky trails was very good.

I'm running 5100's all around with ome 884 front and 895e rear springs on my 07 Sr5. The ride is a little firmer than stock but still smooth on the highway. Plus no more nose dive from braking. I also upgraded my sway bar bushings for the energy suspension ones.

I have the OME lift kit and did not do either, but am planning on installing aftermarket UCAs in order to get my alignment back into spec and eliminate the steering wander i have when on the trails

My 07 4runner has 275K and desperately needs new suspension. While I'm at the suspension I figured I might as well do the ball joints, control arm bushings and rear CA bushings as well. (parts are in, waiting to finish buying everything) I figured while I'm at THAT I might as well lift it lol.

I'm looking to lift and level but not break the bank. I offroad from time to time but mainly daily driver. Here's what I have come up with (any help would be appreciated).
-Bilsteins 5100s all way round
-OME 884 Front Coils
-OME 895 Rear Springs
-Geolander M/T G003 255/75/17....

Bought a used set a year ago and I'm about to install but noticed that i can't compress or extend the shocks at all, as if they were stuck or locked.

Are they supposed to be that tight? or did i get robbed? never had shocks that hard to move but I'm new to truck world.

Are they fully extended currently? Most of the time they are pressurized and will be extremely tough to compress by hand. Put your full body weight on it and it should compress a bit. Putting those on is going to be a joy LOL

just installed new icon suspension on the rear, and i'm getting a full inch difference for right to left, any ideas why that would be happening? is drivers side lean that significant?

Lots of threads on here about XReas delete. I took my XReas off this year and replaced it with Bilsteins from a 2019 Tacoma TRD off-road (cost me $105, also lots of info about this on here) and I’m super happy with it.

I have a Toytec BOSS kit installed. I recently added a steel front bumper with winch and lost about 1". Thinking about upgrading to 700 lb springs (Current springs are 600 lb). Does anyone know which springs would fit the BOSS coilovers? Is 700 lb ok or would 650 lb be better?
