4th gen V8 Exhaust questions.

Hey guys,

I am trying to plan the last part of my exhaust setup. I am looking to buy the Doug Thorley headers so far. I am aware there are different brands but i wanted these because there are no cats.

I have the magnaflow cat back exhaust installed currently.

I am looking at options for the Y/crossover pipe and have not found much. By the way not looking to have any cats at all.

Are there any pre fabbed ones available with no cats? Do people get it custom made?

For those with true duals installed, do you have headers as well? What mid pipes did you use? I heard there was possibly TRD true duals available at one point for these? Probably discontinued.

If there are any thread with any of this info please link and/or feel free to comment any ideas.

I don't think there are any other aftermarket headers for our V8 other than Doug Thorley.

Check out the URD Y pipe. No cats.

Was thinking of upgrading mine as well.... URD pipes look awesome but all I could find was the V6 version.... Do you have a link or part number for the 2UZ V8?

Your probably right, I thought there was a set from JBA as well but it might be just for the V6.

The V6 and V8 engines have the same 2.5" piping on them for the exhaust. As long as it's a 2.5" inlet, you should be good

I called URD. There is NO Y-Pipe available for 2003-2004 V8 4runners.

Yes they have a Y-Pipe for 2003+ V6 4runner and 05-09 V8 4runners. The salesman said they will not work for the 03-04 V8's.

I wouldn't be surprised if they do fit or with little modification, so if anyone has done this please speak up!

It's looking like custom will be the route I take. Considering the URD Y-pipes sell for $500 USD...im thinking I could get a custom one for not much more. But I have no clue what custom exhausts prices are..

That's odd. When I had mine done (custom made) it was a 2.5" piping that was factory and they just replaced it with a magnaflow y-pipe and custom bent the pipes to fit the angles, etc.
