I posted this on another board and some of the guys pointed out the extra stress on the drivetrain, which I have considered. They also pointed in comparison to my old Trooper the T4R has DAC that works very well in both directions. The ABS in the Trooper was primitive. The consensus was "trust the force Luke" and practice with the DAC. The chances of the T4R swapping ends is dramatically reduced as result of the DAC technology. I'm not ruling out the reverse technique but I will be practicing with the DAC for sure... :bigok:

I have only used DAC in 4lo. Without going and trying I am pretty sure it only works in 4lo. There is some caveot about having the transmission in 'L', I don't fully understand it yet. It seems as though the engine braking is so great that the DAC doesn't have a chance to kick in.Ginuwite said:2 Questions:
Can you use DAC in 2WD and 4High or only in 4Lo???
Does DAC sound like gnomes with sledgehammers under the hood???

Yes, it does sound like gnomes with sledgehammers.

Just tried it... DAC only works 4Lo. It DOES work in with the trans selected to first gear. The engine braking is so aggressive that it doesn't engage much. There's some minor nuance about the ATRAC, DAC or something when 1st gear is manually selected. Maybe it was the ATRAC is more aggressive. DAC also works in 'R'Ginuwite said:Awesome, good to know. I'm pretty sure I remember reading that DAC only works in 4Lo and I recall something about needing to be in "L". The other day I tried it in "D" and it seemed to work just fine......other than the pissed off gnomes :biggrin2:
I do know that the transmission doesn't select gears it limits them. Not sure how that affects DAC in 4Lo though?

Others say metal is metal and it's fine either way. I personally would go head on and leave reversing for parking stalls.
Ginuwite said:Can I interpret that to mean fewer angry gnomes when in 1st gear???
JB. said:Yes, fewer angry gnomes because in 1st gear you're putting maximum braking load on the engine. Very little for the gnomes to do unless some wheels start to slip or the grade is steep enough to push the speed past 3-4 mph. Having the center locked would also contribute to keeping the gnomes calmer.
