4x4 indication light on 1st gen?

I have an 84, and my questions is their a light on the dash that tells you that your in 4 wheel drive? I know its kind of weird question, just wanted to be reassured after locking and hubs and dropping in gear. My assumption are no....because i'm not seeing one.

I'm not sure if the 84's have one. Shine a flashlight on your guage pod and see if there's a template for one. Also, look on the side of the transfer case. There should be a plug for the light if there is supposed to be one.

im pretty sure there is one. the bulb could be out or the switch in the case is no good. my 82 truck has it so why would 84

There is a light, it's controlled by the t-case shifter.
The switch is located at the top front of the t-case, pass side.

Light bulb may be burned out, or the sensor may be bad.
