5100 install, top strut stud won't come out!

Trying to install 5100's using the no spring compressor method. Everything is lose and when I lower the LCA the spring won't expand to open up the coilover to pull it out. The top nut has already been removed from the shock. Is it possible the top stud is stuck in the top plate?? Need some help!

Im assuming that you already removed the three nuts holding the top of the strut assembly in?

lossen your lower control arms bolts

I got it. The top washer on the shock shaft was rusted to the shaft. BFH saves the day!
