5100 installation vs. spacer lift installation

I have 5100s in the front. Originally set to 1.75" then raised up to 2.5". Honestly, I feel like the stiffness is the same when it was at 1.75".

That may be true on the 4Runners. My experience was with my Tacoma when I went from 2.5" down to 1.75".

Hey All - I've been following this post a bit and doing some reading up on the 5100 lift. I'm a little confused on some of the different combinations available. I'm looking to achieve the same thing as the OP - a more level stance and a slight lift.

I get putting the 5100's in the front. But what is the difference in putting the 5100's in the rear over the daystar spacers - is it just price? I've also seen that the rear 5100's (33-187174) are not height adjustable. So assuming this, the height adjustable 5100's go in the front and the rear 5100's in the back which achieve no lift in the back, hence the day star spacers (??) Am I smelling what people are stepping in?

Do you achieve better ride quality if you put 5100's all the way around as apposed to stock suspension or front billi's + spacers?


I'm also wondering why ToyTec offers the "complete" 5100 lift for $400!!!! What is the difference there?

I'm a newbie when it comes to "lifts" and any info on how it will effect my ride quality in a '15 Trail Premium w/KDSS would be very helpful?

I went with the 5100's on all 4 corners. The fronts at 2.5. No lift in rear (I don't like the look of the rear higher than the front.) I have 285/70/17. Had very slight rubbing, fixed with some minor adjustments. I'm going to add a 1" body lift eventually. From the rear, looks like the truck is a little low.

2.5"/1.5" on 275s. Wouldnt change a thing! well except SAW coils out back instead of daystar spacer.... changing in the near future

Looks really good! The only thing I worry about is I only have 265's and they are fresh tires. The guys at 4wheelparts said that will sag in the rear if any things in the back but your is looking pretty good and what I'm going for

Of course they'll tell you that, they want you to buy more stuff! Haha.
I had an 18' trailer hooked up to mine the other day with just a few hundred pounds of stuff on it. Sagged a tiny bit. Not even noticeable while driving. If you tow a lot you'd probably want different springs.
