5100 rattle

Hi everyone,
I have a question. After installing Bilstein 5100 on my truck I noticed that my front is rattling.
It is pre-set at 2.5 and it is SR5, I wonder if I need to install sway bar relocating kit.
Please give any advise.
Thank you!:yo:

I had a rattling noise when I first installed mine....but it is because I did the install with a couple friends in a home garage while watching ESPN, drinking beer and eating pizza....oh and didn't finish up until 1am. Surprise, surprise, we didn't torque something down all the way. If you did the install, retrace your steps and give everything nut/bolt a turn. If a shop did it, take it back! Every truck can be slightly different, but you shouldn't need any relocation or drop brackets....

I did installation, I will double check everything again. It took me awhile too, i was in garage from 6pm-1am, could of been quicker. When I installed first one i forgot to put nut so i had to remove, compress spring again and all that. I was so mad :ybrick:
Thank you very much for response!:yo:

whet is rattling just during normal driving? I had 5100s on my tundra and they UCAs would hit the coil under articulation sounded god awful

Keep update going, I have heard a thump sound from my front passenger sound occasionally that might be from UCA during articulation. Front is lifted 1" with 5100s. Will light racing UCA fix this? Stifler...?

if you only lift .85 or 1.75" I cant imagine it is the UCA unless you are really flexing the suspension. I had mine at 2.25"

I dont think i heard rattle during normal drive. Usually when i go over small bumps. I checked everything again to make sure everything is tighten and everything looks good. Interesting, when i had 2,5” toytec spacers i never heard any rattle. It happened right after I installed bilstein and if you pre-set this shocks at 2,5” it looks like it gives you slightly less then 2,5" toytec spacers.

I get a thump sound, which is why I thought it could be UCA causing it. not on big bumps only really heard it a lower (35 and under) speeds and only from passenger front. Everything is re-torqued and looks good, had it on lift twice since billys installed and can't find anything wrong. Thinking I might try new UCAs. Any recommendations from the more experienced guys on here would be greatly appreciated...

I get the same thumping sounds. I have stock UCA's on my 4th gen.

Then again, I have a lot of rattles.

I'd try putting a piece of tape inside your UCA where you think it would be contacting and go do some driving. See if it contacts

Few weeks ago i took wheels of to make sure everything is tightened. After putting everything back it was quite, but then came back. Sooo… it drives me nuts… :redbrick::smash::gun5:
And i’m sure if i go to the stealer they would say it is because of aftermarket shocks and of course wont do anything.
Thank you for advises, i will try tape today.

After doing research and inspecting my truck today, again, i think i found the problem. Will confirm tomorrow, but I think Upper Ball Joint went bad:jaw:

Here is an update. I finally got pissed and went to stealer. Frkn alignment shop!!!

What he said^^^

Glad to hear you got it figured out... Too bad it cost you what an alignment would though. Thanks for the heads up. Hopefully I don't run into the same problem, but if I do at least now I know where to start.

Thanks guys! I will go and ask at least for free alignment. The problem is that the time between the alignment was done and noise fixed are too far apart. They might say why you didn't come back sooner.
