5th gen 20's for my ladies 4th gen, fitment and tire ?

Your opinion on what brand tire

on stock ride height / suspension 07 sr5 4runner.


265/50r20 is what I have found while searching posts but wanted more opinions.

Looking for an all season not performance/summer tires. Do not want rubbing.

The 2010 4runner limited wheels are 20x7.

My local small town shop has two brands in stock but I dont mind ordering online...

Toyo Open Country 265/50r20 211.00 per tire

Yokohama AVID Suv 265/50r20 161 per tire.

Oh those prices include mounting and balancing (per the printed estimate)

I think those wheels will look funny on a 4th gen. They are not as wide as the original wheels, plus they'll probably look very "tucked in" due to the offset. You'll also have a more harsh ride due to the bigger diameter/lower profile sidewall of the tire.

Are you sure you can't talk her into something that makes more sense?

I could but what would you recommend as far as Width and offset. She only drives 2miles to work so I know ride quality may suffer

I think the difference in width is only 1/2". The 4th gen came with 7.5" wide wheels and I believe the 20" wheels on the 5th gen are 7" wide. So I'm sure those 20" wheels will fit, but they will be skinnier. If I were replacing my wheels, I'd try to find wheels as wide or wider than the originals. I'd also look for a more aggressive offset to bring the wheels out more flush with the body.

But if she definitely wants those 20" wheels, then I'm sure they will work. They just won't look very good. Hell, they don't even look good on the 5th gen!

I found a set without tires and I have two questions

Will the width / offset fit fine on stock ride height?

Also what size tires should I put on these

Lastly if I bought a 5th wheel for the spare would it fit where the current spare is?

Ps I'll have a set , possibly 5 oem 17 5 stars that are perfect condition with no rash ect for sale.

I have them installed on my 2006 4Runner with 275/50R20 Tires, they look and feel pretty good, I'll post pictures later

I mentioned this in your other picture thread...but man I gotta ask again....what's the deal with the mish-mash of parts? Your front end is all '06+ complete with rounded wheel wells, the back end is all '03-'05 with squared off wheel wells. And of course you have '06+ LED tails. And to top it all off, you have 2010 wheels! You have quite the mutt there! LOL

22's do look nice, however the tires are a little thin.

Also I only upgrade parts with oem. Just my preference.

with 22s, u only loose about 1-2 inch of rubber, not much difference from the 20's. im using 285/40r22. its fine. the 06 front in looks funny, gota have the back wider to match it. maybe take off all the flares off and use the wide ones from shuei i think, jason burtman sells them.

22s on a 4Runner? Damn.... that's like putting 14s on a new Corvette.

few members here have 22's i think some of them have a bigger tire size than me, 285/40r22 fits fine on my stock sport edition suspension, fo sheezy using 285/45r22, but i think u need a small lift, and matt-x is using 305/45 r22, but he lifted his truck too. baby runner using 285/40 r24. check the pimp zone section, and u see some different tire sizes, 285/40r22 matches the 265/65 r17 very close. i think tirerack and other tire dealer uses 275/42r22, i think that is close to a 265/70/r17. its possible to put 26's. but think 24's should be max on a 4runner.
