Noob question, but is it worth replacing the springs in the rear? Will be replacing the shocks in the rear (OEM), and thinking it may make sense to swap the springs. Not lifting further, as its already a bit of a hop to get up in the old girl.

Nope. Not worth it if you're not lifting and not adding a ton of weight.

Was the 946 just for 5100s up front and labor? That seems like a lot too!

No weight added like a new bumper or anything, but it does feel like I'm riding nose high more and more lately.
Trying to work my way through all of the lift details, but all I want is a mostly stock ride height. Don't need an extra lift on the TE, already high enough for my purposes. Just need stock TE springs. haha.

I am currently in the process of deciding which lift to buy. I'm thinking either a toytec or icon system, probably toytec. One thing I haven't seen mentioned is a differential drop? Is this not required? I know it's recommended by toytect and all my buddies who have Tacomas with icon systems recommend it or you get a occasional vibration. Also toytec or icon stage 1? Opinions please

I've run into a dilemma with my lift planning, the Bilstein 5160's I was expecting to run in the rear do not seem like a reasonable avenue due to their expected ship date of Feb 2017. I have all the pieces for my lift except for the rear shocks. I was planning on having everything installed in December over the Christmas holidays, and I won't have time like this again until May/June.
What do y'all think would be a good rear shock be to run with the following set up?
Front: Newly revised Bilstein 6112 + related springs set at 2 inches of lift
Rear: Wheelers T12 (Eibach) 1.5" lift rear springs
I'm expecting an overall increase of roughly 2" front and rear.
One of the forum sponsors suggested Icon 2.0 Rear Shocks which on the face of it, seems like a really good alternative.
I'm not too keen on going with a rebuildable shock, but seeing as it's only on the rear, it would be a lot easier to service myself over a weekend if needed than a full set would be. Time is my worry here, not skill in servicing. I have plenty of that with my past in race bike suspensions. Does Icon sell service kits for their shocks (Seals, wipers, oil, etc..)? *edit... never mind I found the service kit at wheelers.
Thoughts, suggestions, criticisms?

Check with Toytec. I believe the boss shocks below have a similar valving.

How did this go? How's the ride? Are we attributing the "firm" ride of the OME springs to the nitrocharger rear shocks and not the higher rate springs?
Just wanted to remind everyone about another alternative, Steve at Sonoran Steel. His lifts are on par or above any "brand name" lift out there. I know it's more spring than I need, but with KDSS, a sliding rear cargo tray, front RCI skid, and TBD GOBI roof rack + ladder, I'm hoping to have enough weight for them.

So I found a thread in the 4th gen forum but I'm not finding an answer to my question in the 5th gen. I have a '15 Tacoma and plan on trading it in for a new 4runner. I had planned on lifting the Tacoma and already purchased a set of Icon extended coilovers. Will these fit the 5th gen? They are different part numbers on Icon's website but I wasn't sure if that meant they're actually different. I was told they would be a direct swap on a 4th gen but wasn't sure about the 5th gen.

Hello there, so I finally got them installed...
I've only had them for a day and so I'm really pleased at how well it rides it over paved roads - not rough at all and MUCH better than the way it rode with the front set at 1.75" and rear with a 1.5" spacer.
Need to find some dirt to see how it rides on rough roads...
Does anyone have any feedback of the Rough Country 3" lift with front spacers and rear shocks/springs? I am just looking for the lift for looks. I don't go off-roading or anything so it doesn't have to perform as well as some other kits. Any feedback on this kit either good or bad? How's the ride etc?
