3" Toytec Coil Lift

3" FJ Lift w/ front & rear coils

Is anybody running the 3" Toytec Coil lift? Not the spacer kit.

Im planning on not adding the spacers to keep it at 2" lift.
My reasoning is 50k plus miles on 4runner it would probably be better to get the coils instead of adding more to used coils w/ spacer. The price is not much different between this kit and the spacer kit

Would I have to add shocks/struts since this kit only comes with coils?

Has anyone compiled the info on the numerous spacer lifts and which are top-mount vs pre-load?

Does anyone know the difference between the kit below and just buying the parts individually? The kit is the Toytec/Bilstein coilover setup listed at $949.99 on bilsteins site. However, if I. It the Toytec springs and add bilstein shocks isn't that the same thing? That's only $800

My apologies if this was asked somewhere in the previous 25+ pages but I may have missed it while skimming through....

My '15 T4R is moving on up and we both think that this lift is a great route to go with. My dillemma is what future weight may or may not be added to the top and rear (gobi rack). I hear those racks have some lbs on them and i would hate to lose the total available height with the standard superflex coils. However with the superflex HD coils that typically get put on with the additonal 150-200lbs constantly and NO RACK INSTALLED, that rear end is going to be sticking pretty high up right? Any info or recommendations are welcomed like free breakfast. Thanks

3" Lift W/ Bilstein 5100 Front Coilovers FJ/4Runner/GX

4Rear Lift:

2" Rear Lift ToyTec Superflex coil springs- 10% increase in load capacity/spring rate and a great ride quality.
When used with provided shocks they add 2" of more overall rear flex to the suspension.
Heavy duty Superflex HD coils for additional weight. Recommended 150-200 lbs of constant load for approximately 2-2.5" of lift.
Rear Shocks:
Extended length Bilstein 5100 series rear nitrogen gas shocks for optimum performance on and off road
Toytec's Boss rear shocks - Provide additional travel. Recommended to pair with our HD coils.

Ball joints?

Just purchased a 2016 Trail.....love it!

.....and can't wait to "fix it up"��

I will do light/mod off-roading so I want to lift and add larger tires. I like the adjustability of the Toytec 3" Ultimate kit.

If I understand correctly, I should:
1) Use the transfer case spacers (for CV joint angles)
2) install OEM UCAs (for alignment corrections)

What about ball joints?

I've seen little discussion about them when a 5th gen 4Runner is lifted 3". Is it fair to assume it isn't usually a problem?

I REALLY don't want to cause reliability problems.

I've got the exact same kit on my 16 TEP. It's a great kit, I added the SPC UCA's, gives a broader range of alignment angles than the OEM arms.
The transfer case/ diff drop spacers are optional, some feel that they aren't needed if staying at 3" lift or less. I opted to install them.

2011 with 110k miles

Hello Family, I just bought an 2011 SR5 (with leather, etc...) with 110k miles in very good condition. Thats 18k miles a year, the guy was a onroad salesman, thats the reason of high milage in 6 years. Looking in the black book and in the avarge sale files, that car should be sold for $18.000 plus tax, but I paid $14,500. My question is, what should I take care of? Whats the most important thing to look with 110k miles? The dealer will do a complete oil change in the car, sparks plugs, etc... This is not my first 4x4, I had own 3 jeeps in the past, XJ, TJ and JK 4doors (35", 3", snorke, etc etc etc.

I also hear that 100k miles in a toyota is nothing because of their reliability.

Oh boy here we go. I will preface this by saying I am a complete newbie when it comes to lifts,leveling etc. I read this whole thread and searched( maybe not correctly) but am confused.
So I spoke to a rep from Toyota he today. My simple question was I want to keep my Xreas lift the front so that it sits level and matches the back , a nice clean look. I have a 2016 Limited Edition. I gave him all my this information. He states that my only option was front spacers. I gathered that from the info I have read from this forum in particular the 5th gen lift link. He tells me that according to his measurements (I assume he is reading a stats sheet) that my 4Runner sits 2 inches higher than the front. So he recommended toytech 2" front spacers. So I had him order them. Now I have doubts since many posts have said that it isn't an equal 1:1 ratio. I'm concluding that if he sold me 2" spacers that the front would be raised higher than the rear then? Right? The part number I got was #22953. Item number TAC2 according to the invoice.
Can anyone help a brother out please. So much information for me to digest. Did he order me the correct spacers for the front?
Again I apologize for the stupid question. I just want to know if I should trust this guy with his calculations on what I want to achieve.
