Yes, never hurts to ask... Or even make the deal contingent on them swapping tires out. If your dealer won't or doesn't have the capability, start checking your tire shops. Most will swap tires for an equivalent or an upgrade fee, or give you a trade in.. Sometimes you only pay price difference for the upgrade, sometimes for mounting and dismounting also. Make sure you do it quick, like 500 miles or less. I bought a GMC 8 yrs ago and made dealer swap tires out. On my new 4Runner I had a Firestone Store swap the Dunlops for Firestones. I'm picky about tires and chose to ditch them when they have the most value (new).

While likely the most hassle I swapped mine at discount tire when new but kept the old tires and sold them on Craigslist for a significant sum more then what they were offering. They listed for $167ea. new when I bought the truck. I had no problems selling them for 4-450 (Think I asked $450 and took $400). They fit a large amount of late model american trucks and SUV's. Most of the newer ones have larger rims but the late 90's early 2000's seem to be a win. If you can get Discount to give a credit that may be the best comp but when offering to buy them from me they only offered $50ea.. Maybe it was cause they had ~800miles and they were not considered new

I only bought a 4Runner because I thought they offered a 4th Dimension model. My cheeks were red when I found out they said "Trail Edition instead of "Fourth Dimension." I love time.
