From my 4R towing experience I have found that I always needed more drop than I initially thought. I couldn't even hook up my 6x12 enclosed trailer with a 2" drop hitch initially because the jack wouldn't go high enough. I'd imagine somewhere near 4" drop would work. Or go with an adjustable like you've posted.

Also, get airbags. These things squat horribly.

I use a block under the lift when jacking it up instead of a deeper drop. 2” drop has worked great for me.

They do squat. Haven’t installed bags but they do work well. Had them on a Pathfinder.

I recently ran into a situation regarding the length of the shaft of the hitch (ball mount). Kind of took me by surprise since I’ve never encountered this situation on my T4R or previous trucks.

I wanted to use a friend’s large flatbed trailer to haul his small tractor a short distance to my property, so grabbed the ball mount from his truck (older Dodge RAM 3500) to put on my T4R. The back of the shank hit the spare tire far before the holes in the receiver and shank lined up to fit the pin.

Ended up using his truck to tow his trailer. The ball was pretty rusted to the ball mount; I didn’t feel like driving 30 miles to town to buy the right sized ball to tow his trailer with my mount.

Shaft length is something to consider when buying a hitch or using something one might already have on hand with the shorter hitch of the 5th Gen T4R.
