5th gen wheel question

Hey everyone I just signed up to the forum today, and got my 5th gen last Friday, let the mods begin, wife and I just purchased 2013 TE w/kdss charcoal and we freakin love it, first mod that I wanted to do was install my powder coated FJ wheels on. My buddy owns a powder coat shop and I thought they would fit being the same size tire and basically the same wheel but I called local town fair tire and they told me it was against company policy to mount and /or install wheels or tires that were not purchased thru them.. Then the guy said how do u know the offset is the same! Can anyone help me out on this I was just ASSuming that they would fit now he has me thinking I was wrong and had them powder coated for nothing!any help would be great And thanks again

17" FJ wheels fit fine, I've had a set of the TE style on my truck for about a year with no issues. I never could find definitive proof that the FJ and TE versions have identical specs but there are a bunch of posts that suggest they're exactly the same. Here's one:

anyone know of any reason why a ProComp 52 wheel with specs 6x5.5 17x8" and a 4.25 backspacing and -6mm offset wouldnt fit on my trail? there's is a labor day sale and the price is too good to pass up lol

Who told you it won't fit?

Bolt pattern, size/width, backspace, offset all seem ok from what I can tell. Only legitimate concern could be the shape or design of the spokes if the wheel makes contact with the calipers.... OR possibly hub bore size is too small.

they will fit. didn't see anything in your sig about UCAs...if you don't have aftermarket UCAs to get your caster to +4 or so, you will rub a little on the body mounts with the -6 offset and 285 Duratracs

yea that's my concern.. rubbing the calipers.. that's the issue most have i believe with these type of steel wheels.. i like em and they're cheap.

@fat tires rollin .. yea i know about the body mount, i'm gonna have that done.. i'm putting spacers on now on the oem's to see how much rubbing i'll get.. and can chop the mount accordingly. thanks for your input.. oh and UCA's will come when i upgrade the front to coilovers or shock n springs lift.. just have a 2.5" spacer upfront now

so i guess there's no way to measure something to figure out if the wheels will fit without any issues.. i'd rather not have to return 4 wheels if they end up hitting my calipers
