6,000 mile cross country trip in my new '16 TE

Back on the 12th on June I left from Atlanta to venture out on my first cross country road trip. We were headed to a wedding in California and decided to make it a 16 day trip vs flying/renting a car.

I can definitely say the 4Runner is a fantastic road trip vehicle. We averaged 22mpg over the entire trip and had ZERO issues. I'd do the trip again without hesitation and it was definitely a trip of a lifetime!

I've done a similar trip, leaving from Dallas. Awesome scenery except for west Texas - flat as a pancake!!

Awesome way to break her in. I was in some of the same areas you were in last week. Grand Canyon, Joshua Tree, and everything else in between northern ca and page, Az. Not quite the 16days but only a third. Im envious of your 22mpg vs my 15.5mpg.

Stock vs big tires, lifted, armor, and more. You knew that at the beginning. I am at this stage except for the tires. I get around 18 mpg, much lower than all my previous vehicles. I am a bit worry about adding weight.
