6 Inch lift on an 06 sport 4WD??

i just texted him and he said he has about 1100 from work this summer so give or take that he could prob get it. i am tryin to get him to join t4r.org but he doesnt really use a computer much. he doesnt even have a facebook. (talk about weird) :)

Body lift is easier to put in then your suspension. All you need to do is install some pucks to your body mount. If you are not going really big with the body lift (about 1/2") you can actually make your own very easily with a hole saw and HDPE plastic, it will require no new hardware on the body mounts and cost close to nothing.

too bad i dont have 1400 dollars. its still sick though and ill put that in the back of my mind so in a couple years ill remember if i got the bank rolls to do it ha

so i was reading up on the t4r front suspension and found out that it was called a double wishbone suspension. thats why u cant do a 6 inch lift unless u upgrade to a solid front axle such as a dana 44. that is why roams001 has such a monster of a lift plus all his custom fab work. http://toyota-4runner.org/showthread.php?t=52444 so concluding u need to spend monster bank to get monster lift for a 4x4 4runner. unless u can find an old dana 44 or something from a junkyard (or a cash for klunkers jeep haha) then u can make a monster truck 4runner. MonsterRunner!!!

Not true, Alex (Alexjet) had a 7 inch lift on his, but you have to do a bracket lift, which in essence drops the mounting points of your lower control arms. Those do not increase your ground clearance more than coilovers since you now have the lower point (the bracket which the LCA now mounts to). If you have 2wd you can easily crank up your coilovers more than a 4wd as we are limited by CV angles, not coilbind and other issues related to IFS/double wishbone suspension. I am installing a differential drop on my 4wd in the next few days, which will lessen the strain on my CV's and if I want, allow me to crank up my coilovers a little more. I am not sure how much lift I am running but from the ground to the center of my fenders is about 38".

Also, Roams did a solid axel swap not for lift but rather for increased off road performance. Solid axels have much better flex and are all around better for technical off roading.

An old Dana 44 or any solid axel would be a huge pain/basically impossible to put into a 4Runner. It is much more than just dropping a solid axel in, there are all the linkages, the steering, the brakes, the new suspension setup, drivetrain components and not to mention all the electronics. Roams still has yet to work out his ABS.
