60K maintenance... what to look for?

hey all,

my 03 V8 T4R is coming up to 60K... other than oil change, front/center/rear diff change, air filter, cabin filter, grease driveshaft... what else needs to be performed?

I would reccomend antifreeze/coolant change (Toyota brand coolant mixed 50/50 with distilled H2O), Transmission fluid change(with appropriate Toyota fluid) brake fluid change (Castrol GT LMA DOT 4) and power steering fluid change. I have a 04 V8 4x4 with 40k miles and I will be doing all of those fluids this spring. I allready changed all my diff. fluids to Amsoil synthetic.

03 should have toyota super long life coolant(pink) in it. If it does, it should be fine until 100K.

I think your 03 takes T4 trans fluid, so add a trans flush to your list. Also, throttle body cleaning would be good to remove carbon deposits. And new plugs, unless they are Irridiums(I think they are on the 4.7, but easy to pull one out and check it)

Yes it will have the "long life" coolant, but for what 2 gallons cost I would definitely replace it. The 4.7 does use Iridium plugs, be sure to blow out the tube with compressed air after removing the coil and before removing the plug for inspection.

Th Iridium plugs are good till 120K. They are about $12 bucks a piece, so kinda pricey. I am about to change mine, I have 105K.

I agree on the anti-freeze. It is a 100k interval but the years get it too. I like long life coolant for 5-6 years MAX or 100k. The old green stuff I never worried about miles and just focus on a 36-48month interval. :cheers:

One other thing to consider that's also on my to do list is a new fuel filter.
