R reidy404 New member Aug 13, 2008 #1 gday, i have removed the rear roll bar from my 84 model 4runner as i have removed the rear seats for hunting purposes. does this affect the safety in any way? i mean does the roll bar add to the strength or structure of the vehical in any way? cheers alex

the_dingman New member Aug 14, 2008 #2 The roll bar is basically there to protect the heads of people in the back seat in a rollover... It will also help support the cab in the same situation, as without it, if you land upsidedown, all the weight of the truck is on the cab.
