86' 4runner gets VooDoo'd

His did well.
He's running a 2 inch lift with Rancho 5100's and 265/75/17 Duratracs. I took him on some fun, and scenic trails to get him hooked. Now he's looking at bumpers, and traction devices.

I just used a scrap piece of aluminum and some shears to shape it. On the top two I used locking lug nuts and used the other 2 on my hi-lift jack to try and keep people honest.

When I installed my twin stick, I had some clearance issues. One at the back, where the knob, and lever contacted my built console, and the high/low range knob contacting the transmission shifter when shifting to 2nd gear while in low range.

I knew I would have to clearance the console fir the stick, but wasn't really wanting to cut the shifter. Instead, I went with something free, and much easier. I just found some golf balls I had laying around, grabbed a drill, and went to work. I verified they fit, and cleared, added a little color, and voila. No interference issues.

This past week, I got rid of my 3x10.50r15 BFG KM2s and Replaced them with 255/85r16 BFG KM2s. I placed them on the steel wheels I had on it the first time I had it. I don't know why, but I just like the wheel(I'm weird, and I'm ok with that). I also added some Spidertrax 1.5" wheels spacers to keep the wheels from looking tucked.

I then at the last moment decided I wanted to go wheeling someplace new. I started grabbing maps and looking for places within a day's drive and settled on George Washington National Forest. The trails while not technical or challenging, were breathtakingly beautiful for hours at a time. We setup camp on Saturday night after running the trails for 5 or 6 hours, and waited out the windstorm that decided to hang out most of the night. We broke camp and hit the trails. Again, while not difficult, it was very enjoyable. We rode from 7:30AM to 3PM, and never saw another wheeler. It was nice! I'll be going back, hopefully with locals next time that know of some local private places to wheel.

Picked up a little something I've been planning on for a while. The 4runner gets a little full with 2 adults a 4year old, and a dog for a camping trip. Especially with all my tools, spares, CO2 etc. In the back.

I'll be updating it as I go. Hopefully I can end up with something 1/10th as cool as this trailer.

Made a little progress on the traler between rains, yard work, and a family get together this weekend.

I'm going to order a Lock-N-Roll multi axis hitch coupler, then I'll start measuring and sketching out how I want to build the tube fenders.

Thanks. The Taco is my father's. I'm putting a lift on it probably Wednesday if all goes good. I'll check with ground control and see what we've got planned for Sunday.
