86 runner 4wd. issues

im not sure but I think my clutch is slipping. I can shift into gear but ill push the gas and the truck will go put around third gear it will engage and then if I push the gas peddle to the floor the motor just revs and I get no forward motion. So my question is clutch or trany..

Are you saying it works in some gears, like 1st and 2nd, but when you get to 3rd it doesn't ?

it does it more in 3rd than 1st and second gear.

The clutch works the same regardless of the gear.
You may have a tranny issue.

Im going to ask just because you didnt state it. We are talking about a 5 speed here right, not an auto with a possible slipping torque converter?

Regardless, inspect the fluid/ fluid levels.
