'87 Engine Light Code Help !?!?!

So ever since I got my '87 T4R the check engine light comes on once I get to a cruzin speed. Doesnt matter how fast Im going just as long as Im cruzin at a constant speed then it goes away when I change speed.

Anyway, tried the paper clip trick on the diagnostic input and got the code: 5 flashes - pause - 6 flashes - pause - 11 flashes. Then it repeats. Anyone know what this code is?

not sure of the code flash but, it sounds like o2 sensor to me.

O2 is what I think too.... just tryin to get some confirmation...

My 88 was doing the same thing your truck is doing. I changed out the o2 and that fixed the issue. Good luck

sorry bringing this thread back up, i put a 50 state legal lcengineering header on my truck and since then I've been getting the same symptoms as listed above, I replaced the o2 sensor, but that didnt fix it, so I replaced it with the universal heated o2 sensor they recommended. still no fix. I have noticed the light wont come on until its warmed up (its a code 5- o2 sensor/ecu, I plugged in a different ecu but that didnt fix it either). i'd put the old manifold back on but I threw it out. Im a month expired registration and need this fixed. Anyway this could be another problem thats throwing this code?

I also apologize for posting in an older thread, but that pause in between sequences indicates it show 2 codes. Code 5 and Code 6.

I am sure an o2 will fix your problem though =)
