89 engine swap advise needed

I just bought a 89 with the 3.0. there's something wrong with the motor so i want to swap the engine for two reasons. i want more hp and torque for rock crawling in the rockies and i had a 3.0 and they just don't do it for me.

i'm looking to drop either a 3.4L from another yota or a 4.3L gmc v6

what i want to know is what's more cost effective?

how easy is the swap on both engines?

what kind of modifications would i need to do for both engines?

should i find a 4.3 with a tranny?

does anyone have some websites or references i could use for more information?

Both will be a lot of work and money. Search around and you will find step by step instructions on everything with both motors.
