I have a 91 Four runner and it had been parked for about 4 months. When trying to start it the shifter would not move out of park. tried the shifter over ride button and it shifted into neutral but still would not start. The lock button on the shifter will not go all the way down so I thought it might be the locking mechanism itself but it works fine on over ride.
I then checked all the fuses and the EFI fuse was burnt (found that odd) so I replaced it, still nothing. I noticed that everything worked except the signal lights and the brake lights so I checked the sensor for the brake pedal removed it and wired the terminals direct to bypass the switch..Nada.
Bought a new switch for the break pedal with no success so at this point I'm stumped.
I found two fuse areas, one under the hood and one on the drivers side . Anyone know of another fuse box?, or any ideas on the problem?
