That's the price we pay for living in the foothills and commuting to work.

^^^ LOL! Good imagination!

I'm going to go ahead with the 90k major in about 2 weeks.
I've already done the spark plugs, I do my own air and cabin filter changes. I replaced the pads and turned the rotors last week. Rotors were legal and in good shape. Still had about 20% left on rear pads, 30% on front pads, but replaced them anyway since I had the wheels off.

What else is included in the 90k service? I would imagine engine oil, (which I have done every 10k anyway) differential fluid, transmission fluid? Coolant flush? What can I expect to pay?

Do they recommend replacing the surpintine belt at 90k?

Bueller?

Okay, so I had my list of what I wanted the Toyota Service center to do.

Found out a few things!

No transmission flush (lifetime tranny fluid)
No fuel filter replacement (lifetime fuel filter)

I am getting the differential and transfer case oil flushed and changed while I'm here for my $59 oil change. :keyboard:

i will be flushing my Trans at 60k miles. do not believe in the lifetime trans fluid. also do not believe in the 10k interval oil and filter changes

I don't believe in spending money when a bunch of engineers got together and said I don't have to.

But, to each is own .. :nerd:

It's a sealed transmission. At least mine is. no dip stick either.

Are you going to drill, flush then plug?

My wife's 2005 mustang transmission was like that. Ford sold a unit that allowed re-plugging after flush and fill but it's a PITA to do.

There is a drain plug and a place to refill the transmission, the owners manual does call for a replace transmission fluid service at 60k miles under the severe or heavy use schedule.

Getting the level of fluid correct after refilling is a little complicated, so I took mine to the dealer and paid them to do it. (around $250)

Since I plan on putting a lot of miles on my 12 TE ( I am up to 91k now) the trans service is piece of mind for me. At least if the trans fails, I know I did my best at maintenance.

Maybe it's because mine is a limited. Toyoto of Puyallup service guy went out and checked mine when in for 90k service and said that I did not have to have it flushed, sealed tranny.:noidea:

90K last week. I bought mine March 2010.

I'll have to do the brake pads also next time.

That's it. I maintain it and it runs.
