I have a 93 4runner. Its a good car only 163000 km on the clock. Its a desiel 2.8 with after market turbo.
Im starting to get some vibrations from driveline when changing down gears under load.
No big deal i thought. Must need new clutch.
The problem I have is and my question is. Is the Australian 4runner a si gle mass or dual mass as my enquiries for a new clutch kit come up as both types of kits for different flywheels.
Ive rang a number of Toyota dealerships and spoken to a few mechanics. One said only the V6 had dual mass and the desiel was solid flywheel.
I dont want to have to pull box off to check and reinstall to seewhat flywheel wheel i have. I just want to pull gearbox out once to do the clutch job.
Its my understanding that the surf imports where dual mass flywheel and the Australian4runners are solid flywheel.
Any advice would be much appreciated.
