!989 runner Tranfer case issue

Hi there i an new here bu do love this site. tons of great ideas and helpfull people. So i have a 1989 4runner the other day the tranfer case had no play in it seemed good and tight, but then last night i went through "puddles" in 2wd and now my runner shakes on acceleration between 30-40 mph and also my rear drive line will twist some and when i move it i hear somthing like teeth clicking back and fourth. Help would be greatly apprcieatted this has most likely been asked before

Probably not the Tcase. Likely broken teeth or spiders in the rear end. Remove the driveline and see if the noise persists. Isolate the systems, so to speak.
 
Sounds like rear end issues.

Do what cougar says and find the source before you start spending lots of money.

Put the rear end up off the ground and turn each wheel by hand and listen closely.
Should help you locate the source of the clicking.
Also check the u-joints
