99 cargo cover

Does anyone know the part#'s for the cargo cover and the brackets?
What is the difference in the brackets?
I apparently have the square one? (pictures of front and back brackets mounted in truck)
can they be switched out for round ones if I find a cargo cover with round ones?

they can be switched out for the ROUND ones very easily....

just two screws and its out... the part where it secures at the back of the vehicle DOES NOT need to be replaced... they are the same...


i've had a pair of round mounts that i would like to go to a good home if you're interested

There's a little more to it than that if you want it to retract.
Yes it's easy to do, There is a spring in each end piece that has to be
wound in the right direction with the correct number of turns for each side.
As you disassemble it just pay attention you will understand how it works.
I did the same this year with mine, took 3 tries to get it right.

Patience Grasshopper, You've done a great deal of work on your runner this year. Took me 3-4 months to find mine on CL $50 very good shape, wrong ends.
Just happened to be a runner at Pull a Part that had the mounting hardware (round bottom) I needed.
 
Here are the cover p/ns for '99 (the square one):

RETRACTOR SUB-ASSY, TONNEAU COVER
64901-35030-B1 MOON MIST, TRIM1*
64901-35030-E1 MD.OAK, TRIM4*
 
Unless I'm mistaken, the round ones are stock for the '01 & '02. For some reason, Toyota removed the pull handle on the cover for those years. You just have to grab the edge of the cover itself.

For this reason, I've seen a few later model owners switch to the older version, so they get the pull handle.

In addition to the pull handle the older version (1996-1999) has the flaps that covers the area between the rear seat and the end of the cargo cover. The older version is superior in every way. As soon as I bought my 2001 I sold the cargo cover. I installed the trapezoid-shaped receiving “sockets” to mount the older style.

Don't know if you are still looking for the brackets, but I am going to a junkyard today where I was yesterday and saw a bunch of these brackets. I can pick one up for you and ship it to you if you promise to reimburse me. Just let me know exactly which brackets you need (and color, looks like it's beige?).

I still don't have a cover yet. I'm eyeing a couple on Ebay in the darker tan. they have the square ends so should fit my truck. I just have to pull the trigger.

You're welcome. Let me know if you decide on something, I'll be happy to pick it up. They can't be more than a few bucks at the yard. But as a heads up, I believe the one I saw was lighter beige, not the dark oak like in my '97. So unless you're willing to paint, let's make sure we are looking for the right color :).

BTW, if you want me to pick up the cover for you, I can do that too if I see one, as long as you're willing to cover the cost including shipping, (which I have no idea what it would be).
 
that would be great if its in decent condition. I prefer the beige tan and a pull handle. I'll PM you and you can let me know if you found something and the cost before going loco.
 
I saw one today at a pick and pull, it had the square mounting tabs. I was eyeing it as a spare for my rig, but that's how hoarding starts... lol
