99 front bumper to 98 bumper???

It may be possible, and has probably been done, but I think it would be quite the pain in the ass to be honest. I say this because I have already tried..well, I tried putting a '98 on a '00 anyways.
I bought one without thinking about the possible differences from a '98 to a '00 but different they were. The mounting brackets were not the same distance apart and it didn't seem to snug up like it should, try as I might.
If anyone has had a different, more positive experience, please post!

Yup, op its a simple swap. Get the 96-98 brackets and it bolts right on. You do loose the flimsy center support but its not going to do much in any real collision. Seems like 5mph support. I posted in my thread a shot of the brackets.

Wow, it seemed to go pretty smooth for him.
Is there possibly a difference between the limited bumpers and the SR5 which allows the limited ones to match up from 98 to 99?

What brackets? I just used the two mounting bolts on each side of my 00 and it works just fine. I definitely prefer the 96-98 bumpers.

I think I put the brackets on wrong the 1st time, but it worked out just fine after I swapped them.
Since it bolts to the frame, I don't think there is a difference by SR5/lmtd. I can take a picture or you can PM me what the issue and ill try to help.
