99 Limited Savage skit / CDL almost touching

I installed my new savage full skids the other day and had to remove the factory CDL skid to make it fit. Other wise the CDL was about 1/2 to 1/4" to low. Roy suggested to check the engine and tranny mounts. How can I tell if they are shot or not?

Any of you guys have a 99 Limited with CDL skid installed? Did you have to remove the little factory skid to make it fit? Right now the CDL is almost touching the skid with the rubber piece from the factory skid between the two.

Here is what I'm working with.

First pic is CDL with factory skid on it. 1/2" too deep to mount skid.

2nd is CDL with rubber pad between skid.

3rd tranny mound

I had to pull mine off cuz it was contacting also. The Savage skids are beefy as hell, figured I could do without that thin stock piece.

I totally agree in the beef. Is your diff contacting or as close to the skid as mine? I have seen that someone replaced the tranny mount cause there's was hitting. I really don't wanna go that route if I dont have to.

No contact with front diff. The transfer case is close, but hasn't been an issue (I've bashed mine pretty good a few times and no issues). No issues with tranny mount either...granted mine is a 1996. Should be same though.

I have a 2000 limited I just threw in about 4 big steel washers on each mounting point in there and got some longer bolts. Works fine. hangs about 3/8 lower but doesn't rub anymore.
