Sometime in the near future I will be putting a 5speed from a 97 4Runner into my 99 Limited.

My buddy just picked up the 97 today. I Have dibs on everything but the ECU and wiring harness.

So far ive got the-

Trans/Xfer case
Front/Rear Drivelines
Master cylinder
Slave cylinder
Interior plastics

I will just wire the neutral safety switch up and out of the way and im still not to sure how im going to wire the ECU to trick it into 4WD. I know its been done before so anybody with any experience in this matter feel free to chime in! I will be updating when i can

Heres a bad picture of all the stuff I got pulled from the donor truck today. The clutch was shot so I will need a new one before install, everything else came out just fine including the lines so I wont need to fab anything. 155k on the trans and the fluid looked brand new when I drained it so no worries there either.

Ill get some better pictures when i figure out where im going to put all this stuff :bigok:

Nice, should be nice! I hope you can get the multimode to work. i just bought the right truck from the start. :D
We really need to see 4th and 5th gen swaps too!

I saved my truck from the Toyota graveyard and it was priced accordingly or I would have bought a manual, but I sure do like all the fancy Limited options.

Not sure if im going to bother separating the Tcases and keeping multi-mode yet. But... I havent really looked into it at all so who knows.

Subscribed! Are you doing it in your garage or at a shop? if you need help turning some wrenches or just somebody to stand there and talk i'd be interested! haha

x2. Would love to check out the process along the way at some point.

I will be knocking this out with a couple friends in a weekend at my buddys house down in Tacoma. I live in an apartment and will be doing the pedals and setting up the clutch master cylinder here (thats all I can do without getting yelled at). If you guys want to pop by when im doing that I would love to have an extra set of hands. For now im just getting everything situated and mapping out costs and such. Still need to get my BL on for my ODL front bumper that should be showing up next week!

Cool. Keep me posted. My friend has a large heated shop in Redmond. Loaded with tools. We could do some work there if the timing works out. Let me know.
