99 Power steering pump

I just finished the Timmy The Tool man flush I’m my power steering system. What a difference! Wow. That was long over due.

Well had it a week and it started leaking anti-freeze. So immediately took it over to them and it took two of them to fix that issue and get the PS pump tightened right. So no more PS issues as of now - or AF leak.

It has been since the TB change and still does, screech at start up.

Why is this? What do I need to check?

If a belt isn't slipping, the squeal is likely a worn-out bearing on one of the pulleys. The belts will have to loosened to check the pulleys; maybe a stethoscope could locate the problem before loosening anything.

What would I need to get as replacements? which pulleys/tensioners?

So I went back to the shop and apparently it's the pulley/tensioner on the left side by the alternator? Just looks like a bolt and slider system but it's maxed. which he says is maxed yet there is still slack in the belts.
Does anyone have an idea how to correct the screech? Anyone close by that could help me in any way - refer to mechanic, fix it for $$ or beer?
Should I try going to Toyota service (I know stop laughing).

I hate that trying to do maintenance it seems worse than not doing it at all.

And now on to that tail light issue...

Sounds like wrong belt then, too long, get a shorter belt.....or the tensioner is incorrect/wrong length bolts or something. Its pretty simple, all the belt tensioners are simple, and your mechanic should have been able to remedy it instead of sending you away not fixed.

Alternator belt is @ 1065mm and Power steering belt is @ 1085mm so they are easily installed in wrong spot, as dogtail said it should have been fixed.

I wanted to update y'all.

I reached out through an app called Nextdoor for a Toyota specific mechanic and had a few suggestions.
Took it to a place called Reese Automotive and was there maybe half an hour and they tightened a bolt up and secured two lines and that was a week ago. They said otherwise it looks good.
So much for the original guy saying they couldn't do anything.

No noise since and it is running like a dream in all kinds of weather we've had. They were good older mechanics and knew their stuff. AND they didn't charge me anything which shocked me. they wanted to make sure that it was fixed correctly.
I will be going back as there are a few things I want them to look at.

So I'm going to drive it like Zombies are coming for me to make sure it's 1000 mile worthy.

I got issues like this, 99% chances fluid is leaking. I'm looking around for the pump diagram but haven't found it yet, I might need to check on the lower o-ring, if it damage, that's the one to blame. Had to fix twice the alternator because of the leaking.
