Insurance Assessment
I went in for my insurance assessment yesterday afternoon. Was nervous about the age and the damage to both bumpers. But hey, this is a restored vehicle, and it is just bumper damage...so it worked out. In fact, I received a lot compliments on my old restored warhorse.

They assessed $3200 worth of damage to the front and rear bumpers.
Keep in mind that includes labour to mount, paint, parts.
I have been in touch with the local fab shop to custom make some bumpers due to the issues of wait time and fitment I have read about here with the usual bumper makers. They said about $5k......I am trying to do this without using much of my own cash.
Their suggestion was to order a set of bumpers I liked, and they would customize them and beef them up in house, and make sure they fit perfectly and are all set for winching.
I.e. I am in the same godamn position as before, looking to order a bumper "kit" consisting of front, rear, winch, and sliders...
Any suggestions, would love to hear them. KEep in mind initial quality does not have to be totally fantastic..I can get them beefed up here and any mounting issues can be ironed out on this end.

Dude,....so let me get this straight..some dope dents your center rear, some dipsh*t taps your front and your neighbor rips up your (wanted to soon be replaced bumper anyway).......and you're getting a check for $3200....where do you shop and when is she moving again and can I park next to her!.....is this her insurance paying for all of it?....glad it worked out for you.....hope you find what you want, nice truck!
Hey dude, thanks man I wish I had some before pics so I could post the difference.. I ended up just lurking this forum and not joining while I did all the work to it....eff!
The insurance in this part of Canada unfortunately will not pay out in the form of a cheque straight to individual. Not for repairs anyway, only for permanent injuries and total losses of vehicles! (I know this from a broken neck in a sportbike accident....****..gotten a couple cheques from the insurance guys here for permanent injuries!)
What you would get in a case like this...paperwork (to take to a body shop or any shop really) assessing the amount of damage they see and what they are willing to pay up to...in this case 3 claims worth $1600 for front end damage (I will post a picture....kind of hard to believe) and almost $800 for that dent In The rear which is left of centre, and almost $1000 for trailer's doing to my passenger side rear. Like I said, just bumper damage but $3200+ worth of damage.
Kind of insane really...
I think the fact that these are toyotas with 3piece bumpers help a lot. That, and they are steel!

In this province, it is a monopolized, state/province mandated and run insurance. They are ****ing crooks, trust me....so surprised I did not have to fight like I have in the past. But hey, it worked out for me....helped that the assessment adjuster was in awe of the shape of the vehicle. I think he was a toyota 4x4 guy!
Believe it or not, it was a man using the uhaul murder weapon.
Haha the guy who hit my front was my older brother home from medical school. He was having a shite day I think running around before heading back out of country to go back to school.....he backed out of the garage slowly and into my front bumper. Will post photo of front end damage later today... And the damage to his sunfire............lol
It is really looking the way of 4x. Spoke to a guy named Adam in the phone again today, he was cool. One thing I was confused about was that he said the holes were already cut for the bumper...but on the website it says you can pick and choose the holes and ports which is why I asked.....? So I am a bit confused but still leaning towards giving 4x innovations my business. Especially after seeing the positive reviews in the thread going on at the moment regarding his rear bumper.
He seemed knowledgeable and certainly knew the weights of bumpers with and without options on the spot.
Feel free to chime in folks...kind of surprised all the posts here are pretty much my own.
