A good site to check gas price in your area

Just got this web site from a friend.

You can find the gas prices in your neighbourhood gas station, or lowest gas price in your area.

It is quite useful for me to decide which station to go if you care about the one dollar or two dollars saving for eacy fill-up.

Canada is also covered.

I checked my area using the site -- it's so good it actually gave the price of gas at the local Air National Guard base -- too bad folks can't get it there - it was a dime a gallon cheaper than the surrounding area!

I believe that is Freestate. You can find Chevron with same price but accepts credit card.
I think the Freesate must drive gas stations in that area crazy. The gas price in Germantown used to be higher than Gaithersburg and Rockville.

Take cash only to make up for the $.10 difference. Companies that allow the use of credit cards have to pay so much of a percentage of the cost to the credit card companies for each transaction.

I just drove by, both Chevron (credit card) and Freestate (cash) were at $2.19, both were packed, It's been a while since I've seen lines at gas stations.

No one in my neighbourhood would count on gas stations in Potomac. The price is around $1.40. People are smart to be rich.
Anyway, I am still driving my 4Runner.

Cheapest I can find here in "The OC" is $2.39 for regular.

gas prices in general in the DC metro area were always pretty high. at least .10

It was 78 cent per gallon when I first drove.
The state gas tax in NJ is lower than that in MD and DC. VA is lower than MD.

didn't know that about the gas tax, i always assumed it was because of all the refineries we have near newark.

nah, never tipped. besides some of the workers are the owners and you should only see some of the cars they drive. that said, i'm sure they don't need it

i did same thing to let people know how expensive our neighbourhood gas station is.
I went to Germantown Chevron station for $2.19 gas. It was very long lines there, during pm rush hour, 12 pumps opened. I always saw fuel tanker there. People like cheap gas, there is no doubt on this.
