A-Ha's Build.

Watching those Uwharrie videos makes me wanna get out there soon with you guys! Iv spoke with superman a couple times. Trying to get my build started, but definitely would love to check out yaws rigs! Love the new bumper btw. Cheers!

ive been itching to get out lately for sure so im game!

awesome late night read! Great job on everything love that you do ALL your own work so do I, Im a tight wad and I love the mechanical work.
and nice trail ride pics

thanks yeah it's much more pleasing knowing you've built it yourself than paid someone else to do that job but at in the end its all about getting a rig to go out and have fun beyond the payment for me.

2 part question, now that you've had them for a while how do you like the 4.56 gears with 33"s and how do you like the tjm winch so far?

I'm extremely happy with the gear ratio change. The ARB lockers have proven to be a pain in the dick.. oil getting in the air lines, the copper tubing in the rear having to route over the or around the ring gear.. and now the front arb air solenoid seems to be going out on me.. I have to say.. ARB has not impressed me with any of there products aside from the fact that they used some pretty gnarly materials to build the locking carriers themselves..

The TJM winch was a pretty awesome thing to install.. it worked great right out of the box. as well the wireless ability is cool in the since you can winch up and walk to the top of the hill and wait for the truck to get to you haha..
A little disappointment there as well though... the first time I needed to use it was in the snow and ICE last winter. I had found a jeep that needed help getting out of a ditch and after hooking up the tow strap and running out the winch lead I go to hit the winch in button... and nothing.. the solenoid or control box had shorted out due to ice build up (I suppose the location being in the bumper didnt help but that control box was designed to mount to the winch itself so i have no clue why it would be a problem out in the elements..) I was able to straight wire the winch to the battery with some jumper cables and complete the recovery but man.. what a pain in the ass..

I know this is a late response but I'm sure others were somewhat interested in a review as well.. We'll see ya on the 16th? or 17th? havent been able to figure out which day we're heading out to wheel..

Your 4Runner is everything I wish mine could be! Lol but seriously one of the most well built I've seen!

thanks man! always appreciate the love, let me know if you find yourself needing any info!

Thanks for the update on the TJM. I was tempted to pick one up since the Mile Marker SEC8 Scout ES I ordered is on national backorder till mid September. I think I'll just sit tight and wait since the Mile Marker is IP68 waterproof rated and slightly cheaper.

I'm good for Sunday but can't go Saturday. Austin is good for either day I believe. It's really whenever is good for you Jake

It's summer for me so if y'all tell me to be there I'll be there

Well in that case, why don't you make a weekend out of it? Hit it with Bobby on Saturday and Me & Austin on Sunday. Hell camp out there Saturday night and do some night wheeling if you want.

I think I'm gonna say sunday.. I'd like to do both days and camping sounds fun as well but in my past experiences camping out there would be a good deal of work for just two guys lol (no offense jake). To add, saturdays have been my chore days to get stuff around the house taken care of.

Also Jake, you should come up saterday evening and plan to stay at my place so your not having to drive up way early sunday and drive back late sunday night. I've got some air mattress's and what not to set you up for the night.. plus my wife cooks! haha..

Bobby... get on the stick man.. sunday is the day to be there! lets say 9:30-10am sunday morning at the outpost :thumb:

Camping at Uwharrie is a blast even if it's only a couple of folks. Sunday is church day for me. I might still be going Saturday if I can get a hand or two with the bumper lifting and installing.

We shall see.

Bobby
