A Little Incident...

Hey guys.

I was driving this morning behind a big truck who suddenly swerveed twice to avoid two objects in the road. The second object was one of those plastic crates. I could not swerve in time to avoid it and hit it.

The plastic underpanel middle section poped off some and has a dent in it. I did not see any major damage aside from the panel cover. What does that panel cover over? I will be taking it in for a check, but is there anything vital in that section that could have been damaged?

Could you post a pic? I would like to help, but I am not quite understanding as the skids are all steel not plastic. If it is indeed just plastic then it is just the front bumper fascia, and that protects nothing.

Or the plastic covers?

(See Antman's oil change pictorial...)

SORRY. It is plastic cover to the left that looks like a box....

It appears the piece he's talking about is the plastic scoop that leads to the skidplate opening, right? I took mine off a long time ago.

That piece doesn't protect anything- in fact the Trail editions do not have that piece.

That is the piece I thought of from the "looks like a box" description. I wasn't able to find a picture of it to confirm.

I'm guessing one of these in my "useless factory parts" pile :)
