AARRGGHH!! Driving Disaster! What to do?

ok disaster may be a stretch but it still sucks. I tagged the brickwork outside my garage trying to pull in while distracted. So what are everyone's thoughts? New after market bumper or replace the stock bumper cover? Anyone have any idea how much replacing with OEM might be?

Few solutions:

1) Take advantage of the upcoming shrockworks group buy

2) Push it back out from the inside, buff it off OR plastic dip it

Get an aftermarket bumper. Then go back and show that brickwork who's boss!

You are better off either pushing that out and accepting the visual scratches. Or for how much to remove that and install and paint a new one you should just get an aftermarket bumper.

Heat it up before you push it out, either a hairdryer or a heat gun, then it won't look so bad and you can take your time to consider your options.

Unfortunately a number of the clips holding the cover in place broke off. Fortunately the headlamp was undamaged and the paint will come off

Coincidentally... Chris at HeftyFabworks said he can get me an aluminum bumper, he has a few pics of the one he's fabing for the 10-13's

Thanks for the info! Thankfully the headlamp is ok. I think I saw the color matched bumper cover for $800. I got a generic quote from a body shop of $1800. For that kind of money I think aftermarket is the way to go

Yeah you can get a nice aftermarket bumper from a bunch of different shops for like $1500 shipped.

Get a heat gun or a blow dryer, slowly warm the bumper, and then push it back out.

Another car backed into my bumper and her insurance company paid my shop $1100 to paint and replace with a new new one.

One heck of a ploy to convince the wife you "need" a new aluminum bumper. I like it!

Sorry it happened. Sounds like the aluminum bumper is a good idea.

In the mean-time I posted this one for someone else that scraped their rear fender getting into the garage, spray some carburetor cleaner on a rag and wipe it on the scraped on paint. It will come off right away. Then just use spray on wax or something to get the shine back on until you decide which way to go.

Oof. I can only imagine how you feel. I knicked my rear hatch with the fin of a paddleboard and nearly cried (yes it is my precious). Sorry man!

I would try popping out the dent using the heat gun mentioned above and do a quick spray coat as the quickest and cheapest option. If that doesn't work, go for a new aftermarket steel/aluminum bumper as it looks like you already have the upgraded suspension to support the extra weight.
