About to install a head unit/backup camera (recommendation?), any advice? Harness?

Picked up a Sony AX1000 and still searching for a backup camera. I think I can wire my parking brake to ground, and I'm not sure how to wire a backup camera but I think I can maybe figure it out.

I have my trim tools and sockets of all sizes. I don't have a harness yet, just the one that comes with the Sony. Is a Metra harness and crimps the best way to go for this? Anything else I should get in order before I pull the dash apart?

I just installed an Alpine iLX-507 head unit in my 1998 SR5 and used this backup camera -

It comes with a hole saw and I installed in in the middle of the back bumper, flush mounted -

As far as wiring the harness goes, I used a Metra and soldered all of my connections in the harness. Crimps are fine if they are done correctly.

You can go to Crutchfield or Sonic Electronix and after inputting your vehicle, select the head unit to see what wiring and accessories are required.

I like Crutchfield as their tech support is fantastic.

Another great Crutchfield plus is that when you buy stuff from them they will email you their "Master List" that covers installation including wiring.
