About to pull the trigger on Radflo 2.5 coils...questions about rear spring setups

Hey guys,

I'm about to pull the trigger on the Radflo 2.5 coilovers through Metal Tech. I wanted to see what rear springs everyone is running through OME. I searched through the lift thread with no real answers.

I'm debating between the standard 2" rear spring or the 3" spring both through OME.

Would the rake be too much with the 3" spring? I'm planning on adding a SW front bumper later so I'm worried that the rake would be greatly exaggerated with the added front weight.

Running SAW in the back so can't help with OME. While some love the OME others have found it too stiff. Either way, the fronts will be adjustable so you set it as you like.
 
I'm running OME 2889 (med duty, 3") coils in the rear. They're stiff - especially without enough weight, but it's not jaw rattling.

Self promotion: I'm selling my lightly used 2" Toytec Superflex Coils ;-)
 
mrvandelay the Medium Duty 2889's were exactly what I was looking at. What made you go with the switch from the Toytec Superflex?

PM me on the price on the Superflex's as it may be something I'd consider.

I am running 898's. they are a bit stiff, but I expected that until I get a rear bumper. I think you would be happy with the 889's if you are not adding a rear bumper.
 
Currently running the OW 2.5 ish springs in the rear (think I got about 2.75 all said and done). But with the added weigh of the bumper got a little butt sag so I have a set of All Pro 3.5s ready to go in on Monday.
 
My Overland Warehouse rear springs are available and would be a good match to the Radflo Shocks. Hitting Hollister up on Saturday with about 13 other trucks if you are interested, could bring them to you then.
 
How much of a rear lift did that gain you?

I pulled the trigger this morning on some Radflo 2.5IFP front coilovers through Metal-Tech today...got them in the new extended travel lengths with OW spec valving, 650lb coils.

I'm actually on the fence for the Metal Tech/Icon extended travel rears...anyone running them? They're only about $200 more than if I bought some Icon 2.0VS shocks and paired them with OME or Toytec springs...I'm hating this mod bug lol
 
I think it was around 2.5" from what I recall. Gave a good ride height for our trucks and a nice ride.

My OME 2889s ended up .5-.7" higher than the Superflex. I wanted a bit more lift all around. There's pics in my build thread and in the Offroad Thread.
 
Thanks for your input everyone. After talking with the guys over at Metal-Tech, I've decided to go into a completely different direction and go with their new Icon/Metal-Tech custom long travel setup :)
